STABBING westWARD: darkest DAys - Version 2.1
a tynke Desktop Theme for Windows
***********************************************************************

To Install
----------

Run stabbingwestward.exe, you will be prompted to extract the files to C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes\ by default. If you would like the files placed elsewhere, you may choose your own path.

To install the Startup/Shutdown logos, simply run Stabbing Westward Logo Setup.exe found in your Stabbing Westward Logos directory. To re-install your original screens, simply re-run the program.

If you are a Win 95 user you will need to use the theme files found in the Stabbing Westward Win95 directory. To use the theme files, place them into your C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes directory.

This theme includes the font XBAND Rough, this font can be found in the Stabbing Westward Font directory. To use the font place it in your C:\Windows\Font directory.

The sounds for this theme have been compressed using MPEG Layer-3 compression. This is both good news and bad news. The good news is that you can get stereo quality sound in a smaller package. The bad news is that you have to have the appropriate sound drivers for MPEG layer 3 installed on your system. If you've got Microsoft NetShow 2.0 or higher you shouldn't have any problems. If you don't have NetShow, you can go to the following link to download a copy.

About
-----

This theme was originally created by me, John Martin in July of 1998. Version 2.0 was done in November of 1998. Included in the update were a completely new set of cursors, the wallpaper images have been rescanned and tweaked for clearer images, two of the old images have been removed and a new wallpaper added, new color scheme, new icons, and the wav files have been re-cut and compressed as MPEG layer-3. (It probably would've been quicker to say that everything has been redone and this is basically and new theme, huh?:)

Version 2.1 was done in March of 1999. Both wallpapers were redone and 1024x768 resolutions were added, along with a slight tweaking of the color scheme. Web Views have been added for Win98 users and Startup/Shutdown screens have been added.

All images and sounds were taken from the album Darkest Days by Stabbing Westward, except the images used for creating the icons and the images used in creating the busy cursor which were found on the internet.

This theme is freeware and is distributed "as is" without any explicit or implicit warranties.

This was the first theme I created and greatly appreciate all of the feedback that I received. Now that the theme's been updated a couple of times, what do you think? Please send any comments or questions to:
